Reasons To Join Take Heart
Life is to be enjoyed as best we can. We were founded by a group of people who wanted to help each other, and that is still true today.
Ernie “I lost my wife 3 years ago and Take Heart have been most supportive and encouraged me to continue to enjoy the social activities – which I do!”
We are a warm and friendly community, united by our individual experiences and using them to support others by meeting people who understand what has happened giving us hope for a brighter future.
Meetings are every month except January.
Membership at Take Heart allows you to safely meet new people, forming new friendships in a secure environment where everyone around you shares common interests and experiences.
Member Liz Maggs “Being a member for over 20 years I joined with 3 other cardiac patients who I met in hospital. We have remained firm friends through our Take Heart membership”
From patients to carers, and family members, we all need a friend from time to time – after all a problem shared is a problem halved!
A clinical nurse specialist is on hand at our monthly meetings to discuss any concerns you may have relating to cardiac matters from undergoing tests, through to diagnosis and medications to surgical procedures. She can help you to understand what is happening to you or your family member. Our members have found this help to be hugely beneficial on many levels and we are very fortunate to have this support here at Take Heart.
Membership means you are part of a respected and trusted registered charity. Take Heart is affiliated with the British Heart Foundation and are recommended by local health care providers GP’s and cardiologist consultants. We are also members of Southend Association of Voluntary Services SAVS and Rayleigh Rochford and district Association of Voluntary Services RRAVS along with the British Cardiac Patients Association
Stay informed and entertained with our twice yearly magazine (December and June) featuring topical content, cardiac related news,(both locally and nationally), along with many interesting and light hearted articles. We are proud to offer our twice yearly magazine (June & December), for your convenience, in many formats including digital download, email, postal mail as well as being available in many waiting rooms of all your local healthcare centres and hospitals.
